Peer to Peer is a creative volunteering programme run by BPB that focuses on motivating and mentoring young people interested in developing a career in the visual arts, or community arts education.
Supported by artist Anna Sherbany young people aged 16+ from across Brighton & Hove and arts students from the University of Brighton dreamed up and delivered fresh, fun and playful photography-based workshops for 35 children from the Starfish Kids Club, an after school club in Hove.
The project nurtures leadership skills in young people, encourages new ways of working creatively with photography, and promotes higher education to groups of young people who may not have considered it as a career option. It also provides a space for young children to have fun and discover photography and get inspired by older peers.
BPB is exhibiting photographs and artwork produced during the workshops by primary school children at the University of Brighton in January 2008.
